Triple Feature Archive: Gotcha! (1985)-T.A.G. (1982)-If Looks Could Kill (1991)

Gotcha ! (1985) Anthony Edwards (TV's ER) and Linda Fiorentino (Men in Black) star in this comic thriller. Jonathan Moore (Edwards) is a shy UCLA veterinary student and the reigning champion at "Gotcha," a campus-wide paintball game. While on vacation in West Germany, he's seduced by an older woman, the sexy and mysterious Sasha (Fiorentino) who turns out to be an international spy. When he returns home to LA, there's a strange canister of film in his backpack and a team of KGB agents on his back. Suddenly he's in the middle of a real life-or-death game of "Gotcha," and every turn brings a brand new and often hilarious twist.

T.A.G. The Assassination Game (1982 Fun PG-rated film that was a cable television staple in the 80's. Just a few years before battling The Terminator Linda Hamilton had to go up against a psychotic gun-toting loner. The premise is a game played by college students call "T.A.G." (or The Assassination Game). Players get orders to assassinate targets and they stalk & shoot them with suction cup-style toy guns. Eventually a winner will be announced. Bruce Abbott (acting more like his Re-Animator co-star Jeffrey Combs!) is an unhinged TAG player, and reigning champ, who finally snaps and starts playing with a real gun! As the bodies start piling up in his dorm room it becomes obvious that his final target to win the game will be Linda Hamilton. Robert Carradine provides some comic relief as a cigar-smoking gumshoe reporter who falls for Hamilton and uncovers the murders. It combines thriller, action, comedy and film noir elements into a recommended winner.

If Looks Could Kill (1991) Check it out! Who's that tuxedoed dude in the awesome cherry-red machine? Make way, Bill and Ted: here comes Richard Grieco is his very own excellent adventure. Grieco (Mobsters, TV's 21 Jump Street, Booker) plays "teen agent" Michael Corben in If Looks Could Kill, a bodaciously funny spy spoof also starring Linda Hunt, Roger Rees and Gabrielle Anwar. It's an adventure that's stylin' from the start. Needing a class credit for graduation, Michael goes to Europe with the French Club for what he hopes will be a breezin' babe safari. Instead, he's mistaken for a top superspy, loaded up with lots of righteous espionage gear and given a totally cool car. He's having the time of someone else's life. Now all he has to do is save Europe and graduate from high school. No problem.
