The Fear Footage is a gritty, ultra-low-budget found footage horror trilogy written and directed by Ricky Umberger. Set in the fictional, cursed town of Darkbluff, Maryland, the films center on the mysterious disappearance of Deputy Leo Cole and a cursed VHS tape that contains horrifying, reality-bending footage. 
 
The Films in the Trilogy
The Fear Footage (2018): Presented as an anthology, this film serves as the wrap-around story. It follows Deputy Leo Cole investigating a noise disturbance at a torn-down house, where he discovers a mysterious tape. Watching it triggers three terrifying shorts: "Birthday Party" (a boy terrorized by a creepy clown), "Storm Chasers" (meteorologists stumbling upon a cult), and "Speak No Evil" (disturbing noises in the woods).
 
The Fear Footage 2: Curse of the Tape (2020): Moving away from the anthology format, this sequel directly follows a survivor from the first film attempting to track down everyone else who appeared on the cursed tape to uncover what is happening.
 
The Fear Footage 3AM (2021): The final chapter follows an urban-exploring YouTuber who travels to the abandoned town of Darkbluff to investigate the legends and lore surrounding the tapes.
