Dynaman (1988) - Night Flight English Dub Parody - Complete Archive Collection
Long before the success of the Power Rangers franchise, there was a previous attempt at bringing Toei's series of "Super Sentai" shows to western audiences. This attempt was an English dub of Kagaku Sentai Dynaman (1983-1984, also simply known as Dynaman), the seventh entry in the Super Sentai series of shows, and originally aired on the USA Network's Night Flight block in 1987, eventually airing on Nickelodeon's Special Delivery block several years later. Only six episodes were produced, with the first two episodes acting as the show's pilot.
This dub is unique for its execution as a parody of itself, with the dialogue reworked to a comedic effect and voices dubbed by a group of Toronto-based comedians (some of which from "The Kids of the Hall" comedy troupe). Additionally, none of the music from the original show was intact, being replaced by many hit songs at the time such as Huey Lewis and the News' "It's Hip To Be A Square" and Billy Idol's "Blue Highway", among others, leading to some interesting results.
As this dub was unofficially produced, it has not seen any home video releases for obvious reasons
